Hiking Trails

From May to October the fantastic trails around Logan Lake are shared by non-motorized transportation, so hike, bike or horseback ride while you enjoy nature. There are 18km of mountain bike trails and approximately 50km of all-season trails available from this location. The flashes of blue in the area are returning bluebirds nesting in the boxes along the trails. Please respect their nesting sites and just watch or photograph them. If you time it just right, you may luck out and catch some of the forty or fifty species of local wildflowers in bloom. Some of these are rare specimens so, please, take away photographs only.

Beginner Trail (2.1 km)

Starting right from the Logan Lake Campground, this easy trail takes you on a relaxing loop around the lake.

Begin by following the paved walking path on the highway side of the lake—it’s smooth and easy to walk, great for strollers or anyone new to hiking. As you go, you’ll find viewpoints to enjoy the scenery, informational signs with fun facts about the area, and local points of interest.
You’ll pass Maggs Park, where you can take a break and watch the lake fountain or sit by one of the two docks. Keep your eyes open at the spawning channel—you might see trout swimming!

To complete the loop, the trail continues on the other side of the lake. This part is a gravel path through the woods, with rest stops and beautiful views all the way back to the campground. It’s a great way to enjoy nature without a tough hike.

Intermediate Trail (6 km round trip) – Mimi Falls Trail

For those looking to stretch their legs a bit more, the Mimi Falls Trail offers a rewarding 6 km round-trip hike starting right from the Logan Lake Campground.

Before you head out, be sure to stop by the Visitor Centre at the campground office—especially during the summer. Friendly staff can provide trail maps and up-to-date info to help you start off strong.

The hike begins on the Lake Trail but soon branches off toward Mimi Falls, taking you along a combination of the Fairway, Guardians, and Mimi Falls trails. This route offers a moderate challenge, with varied terrain, gentle elevation changes, and a mix of open spaces and forested paths.

One of the highlights? Wildlife sightings. Keep your eyes peeled—you may spot deer, birds of prey, or even the occasional black bear (from a safe distance). Stay alert and aware of your surroundings to fully enjoy the natural experience.

This trail is multi-use, popular with mountain bikers, hikers, and snowshoers, so be ready to share the path, especially on weekends. It’s open year-round, making it a great option whether you’re chasing summer waterfalls or snow-covered tranquility in winter.
