It’s finally happening! Join us on April 7th, 2024 for the world premiere of “The Test”.
On the afternoon of Thursday, August 12, 2021, the District of Logan Lake declared a State of Local Emergency and issued an evacuation order of over 1100 homes in Logan Lake. Evacuation alerts were declared for several adjacent communities and First Nations, including Skeetchestn Indian Band, Village of Ashcroft, Village of Cache Creek, Community of Savona, and the west parts of the City of Kamloops. This day will forever be remembered in our hearts as the day that we believed the raging Tremont Creek Wildfire would overcome the community of Logan Lake.
It is with devastating clarity that we recall the events leading up to this moment. In total 63,540 hectares burned during the life of this wildfire. It is undeniable that without the assistance from the fire departments and BC Wildfire Service, who offered time away from their families, and resources donated by local businesses, we would not be here today to tell our story of perseverance and resilience in the face of this momentous natural disaster.
Logan Lake spent 18 years preparing for a wildfire we hoped would never come, and then it did. The Test is the story of the 2021 Tremont Creek Wildfire and the town of Logan Lake – Canada’s first FireSmart community. Join us on April 7th, 2024 at the world premiere of this locally produced documentary.
