Tremont Creek Wildfire One-Year Commemorative

Aug 19, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

One-year ago the residents of Logan Lake were evacuated due to the impending Tremont Creek Wildfire.

The District of Logan Lake would like to acknowledge all of those who played a role in bringing us back home.

When things get difficult, little gestures become big gestures, and we want to recognize all of the people who do small things everyday that have an impact in this world. Whether it was helping people evacuate, donating goods and services, rescuing pets left behind, or opening their businesses, homes and hearts to all those displaced by the disaster, many people demonstrated compassion and courage, and made a huge difference in the lives of so many.

We want to thank our neighbours and partners, near and far, who contributed to the safety and protection of our community so that others can continue to Discover our Nature for years to come.

Many of us have experienced immeasurable hardships and continue to work through devastatingly tough times as we emerge from what was likely one of the worst years in our history for natural disasters in the Region.

We invite you all to join us for a short ceremony, BBQ and refreshments on August 19th from 3-5 at the Logan Lake Fire Hall to share stories and reflect on our experiences.

And to everyone affected by wildfire, our hearts remain with you as you undertake the long journey to recovery.
